KABUL: Mullah Mohammad Younus Akhund, the Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, stated during a meeting with Roza Otunbayeva, head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), that the UN should pay greater attention to implementing public welfare and infrastructure projects.
The ministry in a statement told Radio Omid, that in the meeting Mullah Younus called for better coordination between UNAMA and the ministry.
He also mentioned that work on a water supply network for the refugee settlement will begin soon.
Meanwhile, the head of UNAMA reported on the organization’s efforts to assist refugees, including providing clean drinking water, addressing health needs, and fulfilling other essential requirements.
This comes as the Islamic Emirate prioritizes the implementation of public welfare and infrastructure projects to achieve self-sufficiency in various sectors.
