KABUL: The Iranian ambassador to Kabul, Ali Reza Bigdeli, in a meeting with the Acting Minister of Public Works, Mullah Mohammad Essa Sani, said that his country has allocated €10 million for the completion of the Abu Nasr Farahi Road.
According to a statement from Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works, the ambassador stated that after visiting the Abu Nasr Farahi Road and the Khaf-Herat railway, he traveled to Tehran, where Iranian officials allocated €10 million for the completion of the road.
He emphasized that the construction of the Abu Nasr Farahi Road is expected to be completed by the end of the current solar year (1404).
Meanwhile, the acting Minister of Public Works welcomed the allocation, noting that completing the remaining sections of the road is a key priority for the economic programs of the Islamic Emirate.
The two sides also discussed the existing challenges in the Khaf-Herat railway project and the five-fold increase in rail transfers.
This comes as economic and trade relations between Afghanistan and Iran continue to expand alongside political interactions.
