KABUL: Following the U.S. President’s warning to Iranian oil buyers, Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has also warned that the maximum pressure and provocative statements will only reduce opportunities for success.
He made the late on Friday night on his X account, emphasizing that a sustainable and valid agreement between Tehran and the West is attainable, requiring decisive political will and fair engagement.
He also stated that Iran, as a signatory and founding member of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, has the right to access the full nuclear fuel cycle, asserting that “The repetition of false claims does not change fundamental realities.”
The remarks come after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened oil buyers from Iran, stating they should refrain from purchasing Iranian oil to avoid losing access to U.S. trade. Trump declared that “no one should buy Iranian oil.”
On the other hand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman, which is facilitating negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, announced that the fourth round of talks scheduled for today in Rome has been postponed due to logistical reasons.
