KABUL: Stephen Roderick, the head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan, has met with Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, the acting Minister of Public Health, the ministry said in a statement today.
During the meeting, both sides discussed coordination, the construction of solar-powered electricity systems for health centers, the selection of treatment facilities, prevention of communicable diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS, as well as the evaluation and transparency of health services.
According to Roderick, he considers transparency and accountability to be among his top priorities.
He also emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the Ministry of Public Health and the UNDP.
By supplying health centers with solar energy, not only will costs be saved, but it will also assist Afghanistan in moving towards the use of renewable and sustainable energy sources.
