KABUL: Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, during his trip to Pakistan, has met with General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments regarding bilateral relations between Islamabad and Tehran, border cooperation, enhancing security along their shared borders, and the necessity of collaboration to strengthen security and stability in West Asia and Southwestern Asia.
According to the statement, the meeting took place in the Rawalpindi area, near Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Araqchi is expected to meet not only with the Chief of Army Staff but also with the Prime Minister, President, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan.
The senior Iranian diplomat is set to travel to India after his visit to Pakistan on May 8.
