GARDEZ: The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, during a ceremony, today, laid the foundation stone of the migrants’ township in Gardez.
The ceremony was attended by Emirati officials including the Acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing, mujahidin and residents of the province, according to Radio Omid’s local correspondent.
The township will be built on an area of 1,946 jeribs of land in the Rabat area of Gardez for returning migrants.
Speaker at the ceremony stated that the township will include facilities such as schools, parks, roads, electricity, drinking water, and other necessary amenities.
Paktia, located in the southeast of the country, is one of the provinces along the Durand Line.
Previously, the construction of migrants’ townships has also begun in several other provinces.
