Order issued to dismiss 20% of U.S. four-star Generals

KABUL: U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has ordered the dismissal of 20% of the country’s four-star generals, Reuters reported today.

The Secretary of Defense explained that having more generals and admirals does not necessarily equate to greater success, and this decision was made in collaboration with members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Also, it has been stated that 10% of generals and senior officers across all branches of the U.S. military will also be dismissed.

Currently, there are reported to be 44 four-star general positions in the U.S. military.

Since the beginning of Donald Trump’s second presidential term, several four-star generals, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Director of National Security, have been dismissed.
