Construction work on grand mosque worth 30 million Afghanis begins in Ghazni

KABUL: Construction work on a grand mosque worth 30 million Afghanis has been started in the outskirts of Ghazni province, the governor’s press office said in a statement today.

The foundation stone for the mosque was laid in the presence of local government and security officials in the Maqur district of Ghazni province, said the statement.

The statement called on residents of Ghazni, both inside the country and abroad, as well as traders, philanthropists, and charitable foundations, to take part in the construction of the mosque.

According to local officials, the mosque will have a capacity of 2,500 worshippers at one time.

Since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the construction of mosques and schools has increased across the country.
