Police arrest three people with over 150 kg of opium in Kandahar
Kandahar: Police personnel of Kandahar province have discovered and seized 153 kilograms of opium in the outskirts of the province, the governor’s press office said in a statement today.
According to the statement, the drugs were hidden in a Land Cruiser-type vehicle and were discovered and seized in the Maiwand district of Kandahar.
The opium reportedly entered the province from across the Durand Line.
Kandahar police have arrested three individuals in connection with the smuggling of narcotics.
Based on the directives of the leadership of the Islamic Emirate, combating the cultivation, production, trafficking, sale, and use of drugs is a priority for the country’s security, and defense agencies.
