KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a video conference with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, to discuss various aspects of cooperation.
During the video conference, they talked about the political and economic relations between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, the enhancement of diplomatic ties, and major projects, particularly focusing on the TAPI gas pipeline project within Afghanistan.
Mawlavi Muttaqi emphasized that the bilateral relations between the two countries are stronger than ever and that the conditions are favorable for further cooperation and development.
Rashid Meredov positively assessed the progress of the TAPI project and announced plans for expanding practical cooperation in railways, trade, and transit in the near future.
Additionally, the Turkmen Foreign Minister pledged to facilitate Afghan traders by providing easier visa access in a short period.
Both sides agreed to continue meetings and consultations to expedite the TAPI project, develop railway infrastructure, create transportation facilities, and enhance economic cooperation.
