KABUL: Shahbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, held talks via phone.
Sharif said in a post on his X today that Erdoğan expressed the support of the Turkish government and people for Pakistan during this critical time. Sharif thanked him for this solidarity.
“Briefed him on the valiant efforts of our armed forces, who repulsed the enemy with their bravery and professional superiority. We will protect our sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs. Pakistan is grateful for Turkish efforts to promote de-escalation and maintain peace in South Asia,” he said.
This conversation occurs amid heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan, with Iran’s Foreign Minister visiting New Delhi to help de-escalate the situation.
