KABUL: The Acting Minister of Interior Affairs, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, met with Yue Xiaoyong and Mohammad Sadiq Khan, special representatives of China and Pakistan for Afghanistan, here in Kabul, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
The meeting focused on several topics, including the follow-up to the fifth meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China, preparations for the sixth round of this meeting, the fifth meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, and the expansion of trilateral political and economic cooperation among Kabul, Beijing, and Islamabad.
Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani emphasized the importance of strengthening Afghanistan’s relations with regional countries, stating that mutual respect and cooperation can foster political and economic ties.
The special representatives reiterated their commitment to enhancing engagement and positive relations with Afghanistan.
It was decided that the sixth trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China will be hosted in Kabul.
This comes as two trilateral meetings among delegations from Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan have been held in Kabul over the past two days, focusing on political and economic issues.
