KABUL: A trilateral meeting among senior officials from the United States, Turkey, and Ukraine was held in Istanbul, Anadolu Agency reported today.
The meeting, led by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, focuses on the ongoing war in Ukraine, but notably, no Russian delegation is present.
U.S. participants include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Ambassador Tom Barak, and General Keith Kellogg, the special representative of Washington for Kyiv and from Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba are representing the Kyiv government.
Discussions are expected to center on achieving peace between Ukraine and Russia. This comes after the U.S. Secretary of State stated last night in Turkey that no change in the situation in Ukraine would occur until Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin meet.
