Afghanistan Connects to Europe: First trade shipment arrives by rail from France

HERAT: Afghanistan’s first trade shipment from France via rail has arrived in Herat province, the governor press office said in a statement today.

According to the statement, the shipment, consisting of eight wagons of imported goods, primarily includes milk powder for Afghan traders and marks the first delivery through the Khaf-Herat railway.

The statement stated that the increased use of the Khaf-Herat railway demonstrates the expansion of Afghanistan’s trade relations with regional and global partners.

The Herat governor’s office noted that with the necessary efforts, the export process from Afghanistan through the Herat-Khaf railway to Iran, Turkey and Europe is now underway.
