KABUL: The Islamic Republic of Iran, may agree to temporarily halt uranium enrichment if the U.S. releases its frozen assets, according to Reuters and two sources from Iran.
The sources indicated on Wednesday, June 7 that “if the U.S. accepts Tehran’s conditions, there is a possibility of reaching a political agreement with Washington in the near future.”
The report also states that under this proposed framework, Iran would suspend uranium enrichment for one year, transfer part of its stockpile of enriched uranium abroad, or convert it into fuel plates for non-military purposes.
This temporary halt could serve as a way to navigate the current impasse following five rounds of negotiations between Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, and Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special representative for the Middle East.
