KABUL: People poured into the streets, on Friday, in Kabul the capital, and a number of provinces of Afghanistan in support of the people of Gaza and to condemn the Israeli attacks.
Participants of the demonstrations described the actions of the Israeli army as “oppressive” and urged the international community and Arab nations to prevent the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza.
They also accused international human rights organizations of remaining silent in the face of the crimes.
One protester stated, “We urge the Islamic Emirate to engage with neighboring countries of Gaza and facilitate the departure of Afghan fighters and others to Gaza. Thousands of youth are ready to go there to break the siege.”
Another protester added, “If an international court has been established to defend human rights, does human rights mean that thousands of bombs are dropped on the oppressed Muslims of Gaza?”
Meanwhile, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate, condemned the ongoing crisis in Gaza and described the silence of countries and human rights organizations as “painful.”
The protests are taking place amidst recent Israeli military actions in Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians, including women and children, with many more injured. Residents of several areas in the city have also been ordered to evacuate their homes.
