Islamic Emirate welcomes Pakistan’s diplomatic upgrade

KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has welcomed the Pakistani government’s decision to raise its diplomatic presence in Kabul from chargé d’affaires to ambassador.
In a statement released on Friday night, the Ministry also announced that, in a reciprocal response, it has upgraded its diplomatic presence in Islamabad from chargé d’affaires to ambassador as well.
The statement emphasized: “Increasing the level of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan will facilitate the expansion of cooperation in various sectors between the two countries.”
Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, announced yesterday that Islamabad has raised its diplomatic status in Kabul.
