Death toll rises to 10 after mine collapse in Indonesia

KABUL: As a result of the collapse of a coal mine in the Java province of Indonesia, 10 individuals have been killed and 12 others rescued from the rubble so far.

According to international media reports, the mine collapsed on Friday, in the Cirebon district of Java, burying several people beneath the debris in addition to the fatalities.

The National Disaster Management Agency of Indonesia (BNPB) has stated that machinery is being used to rescue those trapped, and since Saturday, they have successfully pulled 12 injured individuals to safety.

Reports indicate that the death toll may continue to rise, and Indonesian officials have expressed concern over delays in rescue operations due to the possibility of further collapses.
