Minister Muttaqi, discuss diplomatic relations with his Pakistani counterpart

KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, held a phone conversation with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry, said in a statement today.

During the conversation, the foreign ministers called the enhancement of diplomatic relations between Kabul and Islamabad as a significant step and expressed hope that the remaining phases would also be completed.

The statement emphasized that both sides agreed that upgrading diplomatic ties would pave the way for increased cooperation in various sectors.

This comes as both countries have recently upgraded their diplomatic relations from Chargé d’Affaires to Ambassador level.
