Turkmen President emphasizes importance of practical talks with Afghan authorities

KABUL: Sardar Berdymukhammedov, the President of Turkmenistan, has stated that his country considers ongoing practical discussions with Afghan officials to be crucial.
According to a statement from the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, he made the remarks at the inaugural meeting of Central Asian countries and Italy in Astana, Kazakhstan’s capital, Berdymukhammedov emphasized that the situation in Afghanistan cannot be ignored.
He expressed: “Turkmenistan’s commitment to advancing major regional projects, including the TAPI gas pipeline, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power line, and railway connections to Afghanistan.”
Additionally, President Berdymukhammedov called for enhanced humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan. The first meeting of the five Central Asian countries and Italy took place yesterday, featuring the presidents of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, along with the Italian Prime Minister.
