Water reservoir dam worth 36 million Afghanis constructed in Kandahar

KANDAHAR: The provincial Information and Culture of Kandahar has said that a water reservoir dam has been constructed in the Takhte-Pul district of the province.

According to the statement, the dam, which is 16.5 meters high and 245 meters long, was built at a cost of 36 million Afghanis and completed within ten months, in the Bayanzo area of the Takhte-Pul, district and has the capacity to store 2.5 million cubic meters of water.

Residents have expressed their satisfaction with the construction of the dam and have called for the establishment of similar projects in the area.

Water reservoir dams are considered essential for controlling floodwaters and raising groundwater levels.

It is noteworthy that over the past four years, dozens of small and large dams have been constructed or rehabilitated across various provinces in the country.
