“Spider Web” operation: Zelensky claims destruction of 34% of Russian cruise missile launchers

KABUL: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a statement on his X account that Ukraine has destroyed 34% of Russia’s cruise missile launchers in a complex operation dubbed “Spider Web.”
The President emphasized that the command for this operation was established deep within Russian territory, next to the Federal Security Service (FSB) office, utilizing 117 drones to target Russian airbases.
He also stated that individuals involved in the operation returned safely to Ukraine before any arrests could be made.
Zelensky further noted that Ukrainian intelligence carried out successful operations at three locations within Russia as part of this initiative.
Reports indicate that 40 Russian strategic bombers were targeted during the Ukrainian attack, and Russia confirmed that several of its military aircraft caught fire as a result.
It is said that Ukraine executed the operation by secretly transporting drones into Russian territory via a truck.
Meanwhile, direct talks between Russia and Ukraine are set to take place today in Turkey.
