Tajikistan’s Ministry of Water and Energy: CASA-1000 project to be completed by next year

KABUL: Tajikistan’s Ministry of Water and Energy has announced that the CASA-1000 project, which involves cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan, will be completed by December 2026.
Jamshed Shoyumzoda, Deputy Minister of Water and Energy, stated that the CASA-1000 project will be finalized by December 2026, after which a transfer of 1,000 megawatts of electricity to Pakistan will commence.
He mentioned that upon completion, the project will be officially inaugurated.
Through this project, 300 megawatts of electricity will be transmitted from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to Pakistan via Afghanistan, while 700 megawatts will transit through Afghanistan to Pakistan.
Previously, it was reported that the implementation of the CASA-1000 project in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan had been completed, with plans to finalize operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan by 2027.
