KABUL: Mawlavi Shamsuddin Shariati Head of the General Directorate of Supervision of Orders and Decrees of the Islamic Emirate in a press conference announced today a ban on the import of A80 oil into the country.
According to him, the cabinet’s decision prohibits the import of any low-quality materials, including oil, gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food products, and other non-standard items.
He emphasized that A80 oil, which does not meet the country’s standards, not only harms vehicle performance but also contributes to air and environmental pollution.
The imports of oil from various ports, including Hairatan in Balkh, Aqina in Faryab, Islam Qala and Torghundi in Herat, Abu Nasr Farahi in Farah, and Pul-e-Abreshim in Nimroz, have been stopped.
He warned that legal action would be taken against importers of low-quality materials into the country.
This comes after hundreds of tankers carrying low-quality imported oil were previously rejected at the country’s ports.
