Trump bans the entry of citizens from 12 countries, including Afghanistan

KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an order banning the entry of citizens from 12 countries, including Afghanistan, into the United States.
Reuters reported today that the order prohibits citizens from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen from traveling to the U.S.
Also, the president has imposed restrictions on citizens from seven other countries, including Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.
The order is set to take effect on Monday, June 9.
Trump signed this order in response to an attack by a man using a homemade incendiary balloon, which occurred a few days ago during a rally in Boulder, Colorado.
The rally was held by individuals advocating for the release of Israeli prisoners from the Hamas movement, with the slogan “Freedom for Palestine.”
American media outlets have reported that the attacker was an Egyptian citizen, a country not listed among those whose citizens are banned from entering the U.S.
