KABUL: The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has announced that President Donald Trump will send 700 Marines and an additional 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles in response to the city’s security situation.
California Governor Gavin Newsom had previously confirmed this decision.
According to Reuters, court documents indicate that the state of California has filed a legal complaint against Trump’s administration, claiming that this action contradicts state sovereignty, federal laws, and legal processes.
It is noteworthy that there has been an ongoing dispute between Trump and Newsom; however, the decision to deploy the National Guard amid Los Angeles’s security issues has intensified this conflict.
