Hundreds poured into New York streets against U.S. immigration policies

NEW YORK: American media reports indicate that protests against the government’s immigration policies have spread to New York City.

The New York Times reported today that hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Lower Manhattan to voice their opposition to immigration policies and the “crackdown on immigrants” under Donald Trump.

According to reports, another group of protesters gathered around the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office, shouting slogans such as “you are Nazis” at the police.

As protests intensified, U.S. police attempted to control the situation by arresting demonstrators and using pepper spray against them.

The anti-immigration protests began in Los Angeles, California, and have rapidly spread to cities and states including Texas, San Francisco, North Dakota, New York, and other regions.

Donald Trump, the U.S. President, has ordered the National Guard and Marine forces to suppress protesters, recently referring to demonstrators in Los Angeles as “animals.”
