Return of Afghan pilgrims from Saudi Arabia begins, ministry

KABUL: The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs said in a statement today that the return of Afghan pilgrims from Hajj has commenced.

According to the statement, the first flight carrying Afghan pilgrims has arrived from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Kabul.

Afghan pilgrims are departing Saudi Arabia for Afghanistan after performing the “Tawaf al-Wada” (Farewell Tawaf), said the statement.

It is expected that over 30,000 Afghan pilgrims and their guides will be transported back to the country by Ariana and Kam Air airlines.
