Uzbekistan’s president emphasizes constructive dialogue with Afghanistan

KABUL: Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, has reiterated the importance of constructive dialogue between the international community and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

He made the remarks, during the opening ceremony of the “Tashkent International Investment Forum,” the official website of the Uzbek President said in a statement on Tuesday night.

Mirziyoyev noted that supporting a peaceful and stable Afghanistan is currently a significant issue on the global agenda.

He emphasized that constructive dialogue at the international level with the current Afghan government is crucial to preventing the country from becoming isolated.

Mirziyoyev stated, “Stability and economic development in Afghanistan are key factors for the long-term progress of all neighboring regions.”

According to the Uzbek government, 7,500 participants, including around 3,000 representatives from 100 countries, attended the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

A delegation from Afghanistan, led by Nooruddin Azizi, the acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, also participated in the forum.
