KABUL: The Islamic Emirate has rejected the head of Russia’s Federal Security Service’s statements regarding the activities of ISIS (Kharijites) in Afghanistan and called it baseless.
Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, the deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, stated that the country’s security forces have effectively prevented ISIS operations and eliminated any threats from the group.
Referring to recent operations against an ISIS hideout in Kabul’s 15th police district, he emphasized that such actions demonstrate the Afghan forces’ quick response and vigilance.
He insisted that expressing concerns about Afghanistan not only baseless but also does not reflect the true picture of the current conditions in the country.
This comes after the head of Russia’s Federal Security Service had previously expressed worries about the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan.
