KABUL: On the fifth night of the conflict between Israel and Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump has urged the people of Iran to evacuate their capital.
Reuters reported today that Trump posted a message on the social media platform Truth Social, stating that the people of Iran should evacuate Tehran as soon as possible.
He emphasized, “Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. I have said this repeatedly; everyone must evacuate Tehran immediately.”
The reasons behind Trump’s request for the evacuation of Iran’s populous capital remain unclear, although the Israeli regime has previously made similar demands of Iranian citizens.
Meanwhile, CNN has reported that the president has instructed his team to immediately initiate efforts for a meeting with Iranian officials.
The report indicates that Trump wants to ascertain whether Iran is genuinely committed to resolving tensions with Israel through diplomacy.
This comes as the Iranian government has repeatedly warned the U.S. and other countries to refrain from intervening in its conflict with Israel.
