KABUL: Iranian state media, “Seda va Sima,” has called on citizens to delete the WhatsApp application from their mobile devices, alleging that the app collects user data and shares it with Israel.
The remarks come as WhatsApp has denied the accusations, emphasizing that it protects message privacy through end-to-end encryption and does not share information with any government.
The app has had a large user base in Iran for years; however, the government previously imposed bans on it, which were later lifted.
