National Procurement Commission discusses 29 projects

KABUL: Presided over by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the National Procurement Commission, meeting was held, where 29 projects were presented for approval.
The Deputy PM office for Economic Affairs in a statement on Wednesday said, “29 projects were presented for approval. After discussion, 24 projects were amended, two projects were approved, and two projects were canceled. Additionally, a committee was tasked to negotiate project pricing with the winning companies and report back to the National Procurement Commission in the next meeting.”
According to the statement, the approved and amended projects include the construction of the Juliet ramp at Kandahar International Airport and the rehabilitation of rail and non-rail facilities of the Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif railway.
Additionally, the projects involve the construction of the first and second phases of a road from Kunar to Nuristan, the rehabilitation of the Shamalan Canal in the Naw-e Barak district of Helmand province, and the installation of security cameras at the country’s customs.
It is noteworthy that these projects are funded by the Islamic Emirate.
