One-month visa exemption and facilities for Iranian pilgrims in Afghanistan

KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a meeting with Alireza Bigdeli, the Iranian Ambassador in Kabul, said that a one-month visa exemption has been granted for Iranian pilgrims returning to their country via Afghanistan from Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, Muttaqi stated that based on a decision by the Prime Minister’s office, all agencies in Herat province have been instructed to ensure safe passage and all necessary facilities for Iranian pilgrims returning through Afghanistan.

The acting Minister also condemned the Israeli regime’s attacks on Iranian territory.

According to the statement, he expressed gratitude for the special facilities provided to Iranian pilgrims by the Afghan authorities and praised the relations between Kabul and Tehran.

Bigdeli expressed hope that Afghan and Iranian institutions can successfully complete the return process for Iranian pilgrims through Afghanistan.

It is noteworthy that following the onset of Israeli attacks on Iranian soil, the Afghan authorities expressed their readiness to facilitate the return of Iranian pilgrims from the Hajj ceremonies through Afghanistan.
