KABUL: In a detailed report The Diplomat, said that India has began a new phase of cooperation with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan through humanitarian aid, trade, visa facilitation, and political dialogue.
According to the report, on May 16, 160 Afghan transport trucks carrying dried fruits crossed from Pakistan into India, marking a revival of Afghan-Indian land trade.
In April, India resumed issuing visas to Afghans across various sectors after a four-year hiatus, including educational, health, business, and UN diplomatic visas.
Additionally, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held a telephone conversation on March 15 with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, where both sides emphasized the continuation of cooperation.
Furthermore, since 2021, India has sent tens of thousands of tons of wheat, medicine, and other essential supplies to Afghanistan as part of its humanitarian assistance, reflecting its deep ties with the Afghan people.
Experts suggest that India aims to address the needs of the Afghan people while also engaging practically with the Islamic Emirate to foster stability in the region, create positive collaborations, and develop economic opportunities.
