KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Istanbul, Turkey.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement today that both sides expressed hope for further expansion of practical cooperation in bilateral relations while highlighting the enhancement of diplomatic ties between Kabul and Islamabad.
The discussion focused on bilateral relations, transit trade, and regional projects.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister mentioned the desire for tangible progress in implementing major projects between Afghanistan and Pakistan, including the Afghan-Trans railway project.
Both parties also discussed the upcoming trilateral talks involving the foreign ministers of Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan to be held in Kabul.
The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs on the sideline of the conference met with several counterparts from different countries, including the Foreign Minister of Syria.
