KABUL: According to Iraqi media reports, multiple explosive and drone attacks have targeted the Taji military base and areas near Baghdad International Airport in Iraq’s capital.
Shafaq News, a prominent independent media outlet in Iraq, reported today that drones targeted a French radar system in the Taji base in northern Baghdad with attempts to strike U.S. military bases in Iraq and positions near Baghdad International Airport.
Additionally, the “Ain al-Asad” base in the Al-Baghdadi district of Anbar province has also been attacked by drones. This base is known for hosting U.S. troops in Iraq.
The Taji base was previously a location for coalition forces led by the U.S., eports of unconfirmed attacks on the “Imam Ali” airbase in southern Iraq and the “Balad” airbase in Salah al-Din province have also emerged.=
As of now, the perpetrators of these attacks have not been identified, and no group has claimed responsibility for the strikes on U.S. military installations in Iraq.
This comes as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) conducting a missile attack on the Al Udeid base in Qatar last night.
