KABUL: Following the conclusion of the 12-day conflict between Tehran and Tel Aviv, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has congratulated his people on what he described as a victory for Tehran in the war.
In his speech, Khamenei stated that Iran has succeeded not only against the Zionist regime but also against the United States.
He claimed that the U.S. was involved in the conflict “to completely eliminate the Israeli regime,” but asserted that neither Tehran nor Tel Aviv achieved any significant gains.
The remarks come as U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington will resume nuclear negotiations with Tehran next week.
According to Reuters, the U.S. may once again request that Iran halt its nuclear programs in the upcoming discussions.
Iranian officials have not yet commented on Trump’s recent statements.
