Return of Afghan migrants from Iran: Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanifi visits Herat

KABUL: Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs and head of the High Commission for Addressing Refugees Affairs, has left for Herat province today.
The purpose of his visit is to meet with Afghan returnees from Iran and assess the ongoing efforts to address their issues.
During his visit, he is also expected to meet with local officials in Herat to discuss the situation.
It is anticipated that Mawlavi Hanafi will issue directives related to resolving the problems faced by returning migrants.
In recent days, the forced expulsion of Afghan migrants from Iran has intensified.
The International Organization for Migration has reported that in just the past two weeks, 90,000 Afghan migrants have entered Herat province from Iran.
