HERAT: The construction work of a Cultural House worth 26 million Afghanis has officially begun, in Herat province.
The General Directorate of Municipal Affairs said in a statement on Saturday that the Cultural House, which will be built in seven stories, the construction work of its four floors kicked off by Mullah Nematullah Hassan, mayor of Herat during a ceremony which was attended by influential figures, elders, and local residents.
The house will be constructed in Tank Markaz area of the 6th PD of Herat city from the budget of the municipality, and will be completed within five months, said the statement.
The Cultural House aims to preserve cultural values and symbols in the province and will serve as a venue for cultural programs.
