Efforts underway to open transit routes, Muttaqi

KABUL: The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Mutaqi, has stated that the Islamic Emirate has initiated efforts to open transit routes and has been in discussions with leaders from several countries regarding this matter.
He made the remarks during a meeting with traders from various provinces of the country.
Pointing to Pakistan and India’s challenges, Minister Muttaqi mentioned that he has had both direct and telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of these two countries about the opening of the routes.
He emphasized that facilitating the opening of transit routes is a responsibility of the Afghan government and assured that efforts are being made to create the necessary conditions for this.
