KABUL: Provincial officials of Herat said that with entering 38,000 Afghans to the country in a single day a new record has been documented.
Local officials in Herat province report a new record for the entry of Afghan migrants, with 38,000 individuals returning from Iran in a single day.
The press office of the Herat governor said in a statement on Friday night, in addition to food, transportation, and medical assistance, 30 million Afghanis in cash have been distributed to support these returning migrants.
The statement noted that the migrants entered Herat province through the Islam Qala border crossing from Iran.
The Islamic Emirate has pledged to serve these returning migrants, stating that it will utilize all available resources to assist its people.
Local officials in Herat emphasized the importance of maintaining the “dignity and honor” of the returning migrants and assured that necessary support will be provided for them.
Previously, a record of 30,000 Afghan migrants returning from Iran in one day had been documented.
