Pakistani government considering renewal of POR cards

KABUL: Following the expiration of the POR cards for 1.4 million Afghan refugees in Pakistan, government officials have stated that work is underway regarding the renewal of these cards.
The POR cards for these Afghan refugees expired on June 30 of last year.
The Pakistani government has indicated that no action will be taken against the beneficiaries of these cards until a final decision is announced.
Recently, Pakistani media reported that the residency period for holders of the POR cards has ended, leaving their fate uncertain.
It has also been suggested that the validity of these cards may be extended by three to six months.
This comes at a time when the repatriations of Afghan refugees from Pakistan and Iran has seen a slight increase over the past few months, with officials from both countries emphasizing the need to manage the departure of Afghan refugees.
