Floods claimed lives of two children, wounded seven in Nangargar

JALALABAD: Provincial officials of Nangarhar said that recent floods claimed the lives of two children and injured five others, in Kuz Kunar, Nazyan, and Batikot districts of the province.
According to a statement from the Nangarhar governor’s press office, the floods have also destroyed several other districts in the province, causing significant financial losses to the residents.
The statement noted that around 250 homes have been destroyed and nearly 5,000 acres of agricultural land have been washed out in the districts of Goshta, Lalpur, Momandara, Kama, Shinwari, and Batikot.
Additionally, the country’s Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall and further flooding in several provinces today and tomorrow.
Two weeks ago, floods inflicted financial and human losses on people in various provinces, including Logar and Khost.
