KABUL: Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, stated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will not permit the export of raw metal materials outside the country.
According to Radio Omid correspondent Badri made the remarks today in the center of Maidan Wardak province during the inauguration ceremony of the “Afghan Qargaz Antimony and Lead Processing Plant” in Maidan Shar.
He emphasized that the prohibition on exporting raw metal materials aims to encourage investment in processing plants within Afghanistan.
The “Afghan Qargaz Antimony and Lead Processing Plant” has been established on a 25-acre site, with 70% of the work completed so far.
It is expected that the plant will be fully operational within the next five years, with investments reaching five million U.S. dollars.
Currently, 400 people are directly employed at the plant, and this number is expected to increase to 1,000 by the time construction is completed.
This comes as domestic investments in the country continue to rise with the provision of new facilities.
