KABUL: Chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, a meeting was held to follow up on issues discussed with the leaders of Central Asian countries at the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) meeting.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement today that this meeting took place to ensure the effective follow-up on topics raised by the Afghan delegation during the ECO meeting with leaders from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.
According to the statement, several ministries were instructed to seriously pursue the issues discussed at the ECO meeting.
The directive emphasizes that the relevant ministries should provide progress reports to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office.
The Afghan delegation held separate meetings with senior officials from the aforementioned countries during the ECO meeting.
Issues including political, commercial, economic, transit, transportation, railway, electricity, visa issuance for Afghans, and banking cooperation were discussed.
