KABUL: Mawlavi Mohammad Ishaq Sahibzada, Deputy Minister of Railways of the Ministry of Public Works, and his accompanying delegation, participated in the 12th Congress of the International Union of Railways (UIC), where modern railway technologies and developments have been discussed.
According to a statement from the ministry’s spokesman Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas said in a statement Saturday, the event was hosted by the People’s Republic of China and brought together senior officials, railway experts, researchers, and representatives from leading railway companies across more than 60 countries.
The congress featured high-level discussions on the latest advancements in railway infrastructure, capacity development, and the integration of modern technologies.
Afghanistan has been an active member of the International Union of Railways (UIC) since 2013, the statement added.
