KABUL: Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing, the Russian state-run TASS news agency reported on Sunday night.
According to TASS, the foreign ministers discussed relations with the United States, the resolution of the Ukraine crisis, the Israel-Iran conflict, and tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
The report from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Beijing and Moscow on international issues and within frameworks such as the United Nations, the UN Security Council, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, the G20, and APEC.
It is noteworthy that Lavrov recently traveled to China to participate in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
