KABUL: Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, the acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriations, stated that the return of Afghan returnees to the country has had a significant impact on economic and social sectors, and their skills and capacities should be utilized.
The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said in a statement today, that Mawlavi Kabir made the remarks during a meeting of the Employment Committee for Migrants, where he emphasized the need to provide opportunities for completing education and enhancing their work capacities.
Meanwhile, Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, the acting Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, mentioned that based on recorded information at border crossings, returned Afghan migrants possess abilities and capacities in agriculture, livestock, industry, trade, and administration.
According to the statement, Nooruddin Azizi, the acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, said his ministry plans to create job opportunities for thousands of individuals, including migrants, annually based on its five-year plan.
Mawlavi Sadr Azim Osmani, deputy minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, also highlighted the ministry’s capability to create job opportunities for migrants.
He emphasized that, in addition to agriculture, there are exceptional opportunities in the market for returning Afghans skilled in poultry, fish, and dairy production.
It is noteworthy that following the intensified forced expulsions of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries, particularly Iran, the efforts of the 12 committees of the High Commission for Addressing Migrant Issues have also increased to address their needs.
