KABUL: Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, is set to arrive in Kabul today for an official visit.
A reliable source from the Pakistani embassy in Kabul told Radio Omid on Thursday that during his visit, the Foreign Minister will meet with officials from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and is expected to sign a feasibility agreement for a railway project involving Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan.
The visit is reported to be one day long, and officials from both the Pakistani and Afghan governments have not yet made an official statement regarding the trip.
Afghanistan, recognized as a country at the heart of Asia, serves as a crossroads for connecting Central Asia with South Asia.
The Afghan-Trans project is another significant railway initiative that links Central Asia to Pakistan through Afghanistan.
